The Library House

No other interior designer combines relaxed modernity with vintage aesthetics to create unique environments of style, mixed with beautiful substance. It comes as no surprise to learn that this classic New Yorker has worked for both magazines (Details) and fashion houses (Ralph Lauren). For the later, he also ended up decorating his country home in Bedford, NY.

Thomas O’Brien: Library House captures the gorgeous architecture, interiors, lush gardens and myriad collections of his effortlessly formal and classic home and design studio. This has been a dream project for him—a new house that looks as if it had been built over generations— so the book also provides a view into how the author and his husband and fellow AD100 designer, Dan Fink, live and work.

This book is the epitome of O’Brien’s keen design sense and his expert eye through the images of art, antiquities, furniture, books, tableware, and textiles he has spent years and years collecting. So, open your eyes to some delicious home deco inspiration, powerful enough to get you through the cold and gloomy months ahead!
