The List/ The Most Googled Model of 2014 May Surprise You

Earlier this week, Google released the results of its annual Year in Search, spotlighting the people, places, and trends that grabbed the world’s attention in 2014 -and there are a few surprises but also, predictably, a few expected results. Jennifer Lawrence was the year’s most Googled celebrity, followed by Kim Kardashian. Amal Alamuddin (who married George Clooney in September), Matthew McConaughey (who won the Best Actor Oscar in February) and Julie Gayet (the world’s most famous French “other woman”) are also featured in the list.

In terms of trends, Normcore is the absolute winner whilst the most Googled designer of the year is the 19-year-old American vlogger Bethany Mota who launched her own fashion line with Aéropostale. But what about the models? Hm…

While it was undoubtedly the year of Kendall Jenner  it turns out that there was one other all-American girl who the world had it’s eye on. In a somewhat surprising move, the voluptuous Kate Upton heads the list of the top 20 fashion models followed by Kendall Jenner, at number two, Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen and Kate Moss. Cara Delevingne came in at number 16, slipping 15 places from the number one spot she held in 2013.
