How parka saved the world

Let’s talk about the good old parka jacket. The menswear staple that stood the test of time since its humble military beginnings. A versatile, warm part of the male wardrobe the parka should match your look in order to incorporate it easily into your wardrobe. Whether you’re into classic or more urban lines, there is always a parka out there for you.

The good thing about parkas is they don’t come with strict rules as long they fit like other coats –and they don’t fall lower than your knees. Traditionally parkas come in beige and green, yet today there are lots of colours to choose from –with the blue parka bringing on a more contemporary vibe with it.

Grey and white cotton and lambskin hood trim parka jacket by Lanvin– Available at Luisa World Kolonaki.

The parka jacket has come a long way since the 50s, when it was picked up by the US military to warm the men of duty. In the 60s the British Mod movement refreshed the all-time-classic piece of menswear and today parkas will ultimately save the day.

FYI: to keep it in good condition don’t wash your parka more than 2 times a year. We present you four of our favourite pieces to treasure for a lifetime.
