Giovanna Battaglia is a style icon of our times. This Italian-born fashion editor, stylist and creative director who has been deemed a “cyber icon” and “fashion heroine” by the very New York Times began her career in fashion as a model for Dolce & Gabbana.

After working closely with the designers for several years, she endeavored to become a stylist, starting as a fashion editor at L’Uomo Vogue under then Editor-in-Chief and mentor for a lifetime, Anna Dello Russo.

Her contributions to other Condé Nast publications, including Vogue ChinaGerman VogueVogue Paris and her role as a Fashion Director of Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle under Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani in 2009 were her ticket to Manhattan. Where she resides for her role at W Magazine and began her monthly column Gio’s Journal since 2011.

This diva of a very contemporary style is a nocturnal species as well as she is the Creative Director of the Queen of the Night, the lavish cabaret located in the newly revamped Diamond Horseshoe nightclub at the Paramount Hotel near Times Square. Known for her sophisticated yet playful mix and match sense of fashion, she is one of the most favorite people to be photographed by the likes of Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, Tommy Ton of Jak + Jil and and Garance Doré.

All of these photoblogs know who is hot and who is not. You see, when Gio shows up in a dress, it will become an absolute best seller as she is the embodiment of true Milanese style. Elegant, kind of bourgeois, Gio Battaglia knows how to use jewelry to her fashion advantage and she keeps her legion of fans amazed at her ability to blog, instagram and be a true Diva of Fashion’s New World Order. Either way, trends are therapy for her. “A friend of me once said “Your image is a Prozac to behold.” This is the nicest compliment I’ve ever heard” she says. Brava!
