Amal Clooney is Vogue’s woman on top

George Clooney’s better half, Amal Clooney, graces the cover of Vogue. The human rights lawyer who also co-chairs this year’s “holy” Met ball is giving us a glimpse into what it’s like to love, live and work like a Clooney for a better world.

These are some highlights from Amal Clooney’s first cover story ever in Vogue.

“Tall, poised, and—unexpectedly for someone often seen in somber barrister’s robes—funny, Clooney is an easy host, and dashes off to hang my coat. She wears a red thigh-length Giambattista Valli sweater, jeans, and leopard-print boots she picked up years ago in Capri.”

“I remember all the stages in my career where I almost didn’t have enough confidence to try for something, almost didn’t have the guts to follow something I was excited about doing, because I didn’t know anyone else who’d done it or other people made me question it.”

“As women we may not be a minority, but there is a bond that we all share. It is not a bond of geography. Or religion. Or culture. It is a bond of shared experience—experiences that only women go through, and struggles that only women face.”
